Job Description
- Level 2 Support Engineer role working for renewable energy business ACEREZ
- Hybrid working across Parramatta/Sydney CBD
- Work alongside the MSP to validate technical outcomes and resolve complex issues
- Broad exposure across Microsoft 365, endpoint technologies, identity services and workplace platforms
You enjoy solving technical problems that don't have obvious answers.
Not resetting passwords or rebuilding laptops.
The issues that require investigation. The ones where understanding how workplace platforms fit together makes the difference.
That's exactly where this role sits.
ACEREZ is building the enterprise technology capability that will support the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone. Every platform, service and workplace technology being introduced today will become part of the long-term operating environment for one of Australia's largest renewable energy infrastructure projects.
The organisation has deliberately adopted a lean technology model.
The Managed Service Provider will deliver the day-to-day operational support.
Your role is to provide the internal technical judgement that ensures those services continue to meet ACEREZ's standards as the organisation grows.
This is not a traditional service desk position.
Instead, you'll become the trusted internal technical resource who understands the environment, investigates complex issues, validates technical outcomes and continually looks for ways to improve the employee technology experience.
About the Role
Reporting to the Technology Operations Manager, you'll work across Technology Operations and Technology Service Delivery to maintain the health of ACEREZ's workplace technology environment.
Your focus will include Microsoft 365, endpoint devices, identity services, collaboration platforms and the broader digital workplace.
Working closely with the MSP, you'll review completed work, validate configuration changes and help ensure new technology is delivered to the expected standard.
When complex or recurring issues arise, you'll investigate the underlying cause, coordinate the appropriate technical response and help prevent the problem from occurring again.
You'll also provide targeted hands‑on assistance during technology rollouts, office transitions, early‑life support and other situations where an internal technical presence adds value.
The role is based in Parramatta and supports employees across multiple locations. While the MSP will continue providing routine desktop and field services, you'll provide technical oversight, escalation and continuous improvement across the workplace technology environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the ongoing health and reliability of workplace technology platforms
- Work across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, endpoint management and identity services
- Validate configuration changes, device builds and platform updates delivered by the MSP
- Investigate complex or recurring technical issues and identify underlying causes
- Challenge and escalate outcomes that don't meet expected technical standards
- Provide targeted hands‑on assistance during technology rollouts and periods of service disruption
- Identify opportunities to improve platform performance and the employee technology experience
- Support platform administration, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Build strong working relationships across internal teams and external technology partners
What You'll Bring
- Experience in a Level 2 workplace technology, endpoint support or Microsoft-focused technical role
- Strong technical capability across Microsoft 365, endpoint devices and identity services
- Exposure to SharePoint, endpoint management or workplace platform administration
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to methodically investigate technical issues
- Experience working with managed service providers or outsourced technology partners
- Confidence challenging technical outcomes and asking the right questions when something doesn't look right
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving
- A proactive mindset, sound technical judgement and genuine curiosity about how technology environments operate
You may currently work within an internal technology team or an MSP.
Either way, you'll probably be the person colleagues turn to when an issue doesn't have an obvious answer.
If you've reached the point where you enjoy improving technology environments as much as resolving issues within them, this role offers the opportunity to do both while building your career inside a nationally significant infrastructure organisation.
