Property Accounting Technician

Location: Downtown Montreal, Hybrid

Salary: Up to $70,000 based on experience + health insurance

Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be supporting the day‑to‑day accounting operations for a portfolio of properties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounting experience who is looking for long‑term growth in a stable and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of accounts payable transactions.
• Process and maintain accounting transactions using QuickBooks and Hopem.
• Review, validate, and process vendor invoices in a timely manner.
• Support day‑to‑day property accounting activities.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities, depending on experience.
• Work closely with the Controller to support daily accounting operations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounting, preferably in property accounting or a similar environment.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable and the accounting cycle.
• Experience with QuickBooks is required; experience with Hopem (2020) is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Fluency in French is required, as financial statements are prepared in French.

Other Language Requirement

• English – Advanced proficiency required.
