Job Description

Preston Phipps Inc is the leading specialty distributor and manufacturers' representative of Steam, Hot Water and Critical Air solutions across Canada. Preston Phipps is looking for an energetic, driven team player to join our Western Canadian offices in an Institutional/Industrial Outside Sales role for the Edmonton & Fort Saskatchewan Area, based out of Edmonton. This key role focuses on providing solutions and services around applications including Steam, Hydronic Heating, Domestic Hot Water, HVAC and Critical Air Applications.

This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships and partnerships with engineering firms, contractors, and end users in the industrial, institutional and commercial marketplace. Responsibilities Provide end users with the expertise and knowledge that allows them to optimize their systems while doing so in the safest possible manner. Supports and builds relationships with sales and distribution channels.

Develop and monitor business plans for an individual sales territory. Generate sales to exceed the forecast for the area. Builds customer relationships to develop repeat business in assigned territory.

Develop a Top Account list within their territory for sales activity planning. Determine sales potential of the companies, establish priority accounts, and penetrate markets. Partner with other sales areas to develop business within new or existing accounts.

Train end users and engineers on products and services informally or during formal presentations. Develop yearly sales goals. Daily field sales calls.

Joint field sales calls with manufacturing representatives. End user focused selling with a front-end approach to working with engineering firms and contractors Develop new business prospects Maintain CRM tool with contacts, pipeline, opportunities and forecasts. Participate in local trade associations, trade shows, and technical seminars.

Conduct field events to promote products and solutions. Support corporate goals and growth initiatives. Collect and share information on competition, market, and industry trends with leadership team.

Experience A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is preferred, but not required. Applicants with Engineering Technologist and Power Engineering tickets or Strong Sales backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Strong customer service and sales knowledge and experience.

Excellent communication, follow up, organizational and record keeping skills. Commitment to driving sales and being active in your territory. Industrial sales experience is preferred.

The qualified candidate will be disciplined, driven, professional and positive work ethic. The ideal candidate should have outside sales experience selling a technical or industrial product, and a proven track record in selling value propositions and turnkey concepts to senior management teams using financial models. #J-18808-Ljbffr
