Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Team Lead to lead multiple engineering teams responsible for business-critical software products. This is a people-focused leadership position combining engineering management, delivery ownership and cross-functional project leadership.

You will be responsible for developing engineering talent, driving software quality, improving delivery processes and working closely with Product and Engineering stakeholders to deliver secure, high-quality software solutions. This role does not require hands-on coding but does require strong technical credibility and an understanding of modern software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop multiple software engineering teams.
• Conduct one-to-ones, performance reviews and career development planning.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.
• Drive delivery across multiple products and engineering initiatives.
• Own engineering quality, security and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with Product Management to align technical delivery with business priorities.
• Lead cross-functional technical and delivery projects.
• Improve Agile ways of working and engineering processes.
• Promote Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) best practices.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and succession planning.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Engineering, Product and the wider business.

Required Experience

• Previous experience as a Software Engineering Team Lead, Engineering Manager or Software Development Manager.
• Proven people management experience within software engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies and engineering best practices.
• Experience with software delivery processes and engineering governance.
• Knowledge of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
• Experience managing technical projects across multiple teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent Dutch and English.
• SaaS or cloud-based software products.
• ERP, Finance or other enterprise software.
• DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• AI tooling or AI-enabled software development.
• Experience leading distributed engineering teams.
