Hybrid Tax Manager Opportunity – Reports to CFO – Growing E&P Company w/ Great Culture Are you a seasoned tax professional with a passion for the energy industry? We are on the hunt for a dynamic, detail‑oriented, and experienced Tax Manager to join our growing E&P client. This role is pivotal in our organization, providing strategic tax planning and compliance expertise.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all tax‑related activities, including planning, compliance, and audit defense for our multinational company. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast‑paced environment, where you will play a key role in shaping and driving our tax strategy. Salary $160,000 - $180,000 per year Responsibilities Leading the development and implementation of innovative tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and risks.
Overseeing the preparation and review of federal, state, local, and international tax returns and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. Managing tax audits and inquiries, including negotiating with tax authorities and providing robust defense for the company’s tax positions. Keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation and regulations, assessing their potential impact on the company, and advising management accordingly.
Collaborating with other departments, including finance and legal, to provide tax advice on business decisions and transactions. Managing and mentoring a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Coordinating with external tax advisors and auditors as needed.
Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree in Taxation or Law is highly desirable. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in tax management, preferably in the energy industry. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations. Proven experience in tax planning and strategy development.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex tax concepts and strategies to non‑tax professionals. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
