Tax Analyst (Hybrid) Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid – Onsite Tue–Thu, Remote: Mon & Fri) Duration: 12 Months W2 Contract Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week) Experience Level: 6–10 Years About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst II / Tax Analyst to join a dynamic finance and tax team supporting NextEra Energy. This role focuses on tax compliance, financial analysis, and reporting, supporting both ongoing operations and project-based initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who enjoys working with financial data, navigating tax regulations, and contributing to strategic financial planning in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns , including schedules, extensions, and payment estimates Support corporate income tax, partnership, and consolidated tax filings Conduct financial and economic analysis to support budgeting and forecasting activities Interpret financial reports and tax data to support business decisions Research and respond to government agency inquiries related to compliance and filings Prepare tax calculations and documentation to support tax audits and controversy analyses Support tax assumptions and modeling for business and project initiatives Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance Utilize tools like Excel and financial systems for analysis and reporting Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of experience in tax, accounting, or financial analysis Strong knowledge of tax compliance and reporting Proficiency in Excel and data analysis Solid understanding of GAAP principles Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Preferred Qualifications CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification Master's degree in Accounting or Finance Experience with corporate and partnership tax filings Exposure to regulatory reporting and tax research Work Environment Hybrid schedule: Monday & Friday: Remote Tuesday – Thursday: Onsite (Houston office) Initial training period will be fully onsite What We're Looking For A detail-driven professional with a strong ownership mindset Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong analytical and financial acumen A proactive team player with a bias for action and adaptability
