Job Description
Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to help support and maintain our enterprise storage and backup infrastructure. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of hands‑on experience managing large, complex enterprise environments and has strong technical expertise with Pure Storage, Dell Storage, IBM Storage, Cohesity, and AWS Backup. Experience with AWS cloud services is preferred.
This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, performance, and protection of the organization’s data across on‑prem and cloud environments. Role Responsibility Understand technical/business requirements gathered from the business units. Coordinate and lead the analysis, design, and documentation of platforms/systems to meet enterprise requirements.
Install, customize, maintain, test, and troubleshoot operating systems and other systems software. Configure, install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot hardware systems. Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions, and to prevent recurring problems.
Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies for enterprise use to consistently drive down total cost of ownership. Experience in AWS workloads. Support, administer, and optimize enterprise storage platforms including Pure Storage, Dell Storage, and IBM Storage.
Manage and maintain backup and recovery platforms, primarily using Cohesity and AWS Backup. Act as an escalation point for our operations team when troubleshooting issues. Implement and maintain replication, snapshots, and data protection strategies across storage systems.
Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management for storage and backup environments. Ensure backup/restore reliability and assist with disaster recovery testing and documentation. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (cloud, network, security, application teams) to support business needs and project initiatives.
Maintain accurate documentation including runbooks, architecture diagrams, configuration details, and SOPs. Respond to incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Participate in on‑call rotation as needed.
Monitor, manage, and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved. Coordinate activities with internal/external technology owners/service providers. Plan and implement lifecycle management of software and hardware. #J-18808-Ljbffr
