Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

Locums - Silverdale, Washington NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity Clinical Role Join an established cardiothoracic surgery team providing predominantly inpatient care with a mix of OR first assist and acute patient management. This opportunity offers a balanced surgical and clinical role with strong team support in a high-acuity setting. Start Date: As soon as credentialed Assignment Length: 6-9 months Position Highlights: Full-time (1.0 FTE) cardiothoracic surgery role 95% inpatient / 5% clinic responsibilities Mix of OR first assist and ICU/acute care management Established team with 2 physicians and 4 APPs Replacement position due to retiring APP Preference for local providers (no flights) Schedule & Coverage Monday - Friday schedule Call Coverage: 1-2 weekdays per week Weekend call rotation Night call: 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM Clinical Details & Responsibilities Setting: Hospital (95%) / Clinic (5%) Patient Population: Adult Patient Volume: Hospital patients per day: 5-10 Admissions: 0-3 ICU census: 2-7 Surgeries: 1-2 per day Responsibilities Include: First assisting in cardiothoracic surgical procedures Managing pre- and post-operative patients Providing ICU and acute care management Evaluating and managing volume status and blood pressure issues Collaborating with surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams Participating in weekday and weekend call rotation Procedures Required: General cardiothoracic surgery (open) Coronary artery bypass grafting (on pump) Valve repair and replacement Preferred: Cardiac and aorto-thoracic aneurysm repair Lung resection (including VATS) Chest wall and pleural procedures Left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) Ventilation management Central line insertion Not Required: Endoscopic CV/thoracic procedures Off-pump CABG Congenital defect repairs (ASD, VSD, PFO) Esophageal or diaphragm surgeries Pacemaker/AICD placement Bronchoscopy, arterial line, PA catheter, IABP Support & Technology Support Staff: 2 Cardiothoracic surgeons 4 APPs RN Navigators Medical Assistants Technology: EMR: Epic Requirements Certified NP or PA - required Active Washington license - required Cardiothoracic surgery experience (OR + ICU/acute care) - required OR first assist experience - required Clean malpractice/background - highly preferred Local candidates - highly preferred Organization & Team Established cardiothoracic surgery program Collaborative team of surgeons and APPs Strong clinical and surgical support structure About Silverdale, Washington Location & Access: Located on the Kitsap Peninsula with easy access to Seattle via ferry Lifestyle & Community: Coastal living with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere Attractions: Waterfront parks, hiking trails, and proximity to Olympic National Park Quality of Life: Scenic beauty, mild climate, and access to both outdoor recreation and city amenities What RecruitWell Provides A+ rated malpractice coverage Weekly direct deposit 24/7 dedicated recruiter support Professional onboarding and credentialing assistance RecruitWell's Core Values Open communication Sense of urgency Teamwork Accountability Driven to win Higher consciousness
