Description

Reporting to the SAP MM & Applications Manager, the Ariba SLP onboarding Administrator performs a variety of functions. The primary responsibility is to work alongside the Ariba SLP Vendor Management Team and IT Applications Team to plan, implement, and execute the onboarding of preferred and sourced vendors to Mercury’s Ariba network. The chosen person will coordinate Mercury’s supplier onboarding process.

Suppliers will register in Ariba Proposals, complete the supplier registration questionnaire and supplier pre‑qualification questionnaire, covering newly created and existing suppliers requiring pre‑qualification review. The administrator will be responsible for the onboarding of each supplier to registration completion and will serve as the first point of contact for urgent issues or service management queries during the onboarding process. Due to the nature of this role, we cannot provide employment visa sponsorship; candidates must already hold the right to work in Ireland without requiring visa support.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Manage and coordinate supplier requests from business users, providing regular updates to the requestors
  • Proactively support and guide suppliers in their onboarding process
  • Ensure consistent supplier communication processes
  • Advise on resolution of supplier onboarding issues
  • Manage escalations where a supplier does not wish to participate
  • Outreach to suppliers to inform them of the requirement to register through Ariba
  • Collect supplier contact person details
  • Support vendor managers to close issues that may arise during vendor onboarding
  • Identify issues and blockers and mitigate them as part of continuous improvement
  • Participate and support mitigation actions as part of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Enforce compliance with suppliers and support escalations
  • Champion the supplier onboarding process within the organization
  • Maintain accurate supplier records within Ariba SLP, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal standards
  • Monitor supplier onboarding progress within Ariba and proactively follow up on pending steps
  • Perform initial quality checks on supplier‑provided documentation (e.g., tax forms, banking details, certifications)
  • Ensure correct supplier classification (e.g., vendor type, risk category, region) in line with procurement policies
  • Support integration of supplier data into downstream systems (ERP, finance, procurement tools)
  • Ensure suppliers meet internal compliance requirements (e.g., due diligence, risk assessments, sustainability questionnaires)
  • Liaise with compliance, legal, and procurement teams when supplier risk flags or policy exceptions arise
  • Enforce adherence to internal procurement policies and external regulatory requirements during onboarding
  • Act as the central point of contact between suppliers, procurement, AP, legal, and business requestors
  • Support buyers and sourcing teams with supplier readiness
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on the Ariba SLP process, timelines, and requirements

Key Performance Indicators

  • Weekly progress updates on the number of suppliers onboarded to Ariba
  • Onboarding of suppliers based on the requirement date provided by the business requestor

Essential Criteria Of The Role

  • 2‑3 years’ experience within a similar role and ideally systems administration experience on an ERP system such as SAP is a distinct advantage
  • Ability to work on one's own initiative, motivated, self‑starter, and team player
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate standards to other staff members and internal customers
  • Excellent administrative and IT skills, proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
