We are currently hiring a Staff Nurse โ Day Ward for a hospital in Galway , Ireland.
Position: Staff Nurse โ Day Ward
Location: Galway, Ireland
Working Hours: 30 hours per week Permanent/Part-Time Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care and treatments to the highest possible standard in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using the nursing process and maintains accurate and appropriate records.
- Implements effective discharge planning based on individual patient care needs.
- Administers medications, IV drugs, blood and blood products, and controlled drugs in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Monitors patients following medication administration, documents appropriately, and reports any adverse events or medication errors.
- Adheres to best-practice infection prevention and control guidelines and promptly reports and manages infections in accordance with hospital policy.
- Works closely with the Infection Control Nurse to maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
- Handles, segregates, and disposes of medical waste safely and correctly in accordance with hospital policy.
Requirements
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a high-quality nursing service.
Demonstrates personal and professional accountability for the delivery of safe, effective patient care.
RGN qualification with current NMBI registration, or eligibility for registration.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Flexible approach to work patterns, with willingness to rotate between day shifts.
Registered, or eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
Post-registration nursing experience, preferably within a surgical setting.
