Job Description

Responsibilities Act as the department link nurse for cervical screening. Provide clinical expertise to the team and coordinate delivery of high‑quality care. Lead on specific projects and management functions delegated by the Clinic Manager.

Serve as a role model for Trust values and expert clinical care. Coordinate activities in general, midwifery, or specialist settings as required. Assess, plan, and implement high‑quality care and evaluate care options for patients within the clinical area.

Lead complex clinical care and support the cervical screening pathway, including result management and referral. Ensure safe custody, maintenance, and administration of medication per Trust policy. Promote a safe therapeutic environment following infection control guidelines, health and safety legislation, and Trust policies.

Provide evidence‑based clinical advice and maintain understanding of escalation procedures. Participate in risk management, governance, safeguarding, and safeguarding policies. Collaborate in multi‑professional teams to deliver care, coordinate nurse‑led clinics, and manage specialist functions.

Monitor quality standards under CQC requirements, deliver high‑quality patient experience, and support data collection on quality indicators. Ensure a safe working environment including equipment safety and falls prevention. Support the detection, management, and prevention of safeguarding issues.

Stay current with professional and clinical developments and share knowledge with peers. Professional Practice Maintain professional behaviour aligning with NMC code and Trust values. Lead in infection control protocols and data protection compliance.

Report incidents, accidents, and complaints with appropriate support. Maintain accurate documentation per NMC and Trust standards. Engage in local audits and contribute to quality improvement.

Manage staff stock supply and orders appropriately. Provide mentorship and education to pre‑registration students. Leadership & Management Manage day‑to‑day staffing, rotations, and shift coordination.

Act as shift coordinator and temporary manager as required. Lead and manage clinical teams and maintain communication with multidisciplinary groups. Contribute to workforce planning, rota development, and induction/orientation of new staff.

Supervise qualified and unqualified staff, provide clinical support, and act as a resource. Lead incident and complaint investigations, participate in recruitment, selection, and appraisals. Chair team meetings and lead specific projects identified by the manager.

Utilise budgetary information to manage resources effectively. Embed change initiatives and support locally related research and evidence‑based practice. Professional Development Maintain professional registration and mandatory training.

Develop and achieve professional development objectives. Adhere to Trust policies and consistently model Trust values. Qualifications Significant clinical experience within the relevant clinical setting.
