Staff Engineer, Software Development (Backend Developer β C# & .NET Core)
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Staff Engineer, Software Development (Backend Developer β C# & .NET Core) to join an innovative engineering organization building scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications.
This is a senior-level, hands-on engineering role where you'll design, develop, and enhance backend services that power mission-critical software platforms. Working alongside Product Managers, Architects, Cloud Engineers, and fellow developers, you'll help shape technical direction while mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices.

What Youβll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise backend applications using C# and .NET Core.
- Build scalable, secure, high-performance REST APIs and backend services.
- Design cloud-native software solutions using containerized technologies.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Solution Architects, Infrastructure, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code following modern engineering practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, optimize, and enhance existing applications.
- Integrate backend services with databases, messaging platforms, APIs, and third-party systems.
- Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
- Perform code reviews and promote software quality, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership across the team.
- Develop technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Expert-level experience developing backend applications with:
- C#
- Strong experience building RESTful APIs and distributed backend systems.
Experience with:
- Docker
- PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, microservices architecture, and software design patterns.
- Experience working within Agile software development teams.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
- Kafka or other messaging technologies
- SQL Server or Oracle
- TCP/IP networking
- SOAP Web Services
- Enterprise integrations
- High-availability or mission-critical enterprise applications
