About the Opportunity

A growing U.S.-based financial services firm is seeking a highly organized and proactive Staff Accountant to support the accounting operations of multiple clients across different industries.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, can confidently manage competing priorities, and takes full ownership of recurring accounting workflows and deadlines. The Staff Accountant will work closely with Controllers and other members of the finance team while communicating regularly with clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage recurring accounting activities for approximately 6–10 clients simultaneously.
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment posting, and statement reconciliation.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end close procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Support payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance, as applicable.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and organized accounting records.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide timely, accurate financial information.
  • Support Controllers with accounting tasks, data entry, client onboarding, and short-term projects.
  • Monitor workflows and deadlines to ensure all client deliverables are completed on time.
  • Identify opportunities to improve or automate accounting processes.
  • Stay informed about relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to client-specific projects and broader team initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting position.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing accounting processes for multiple clients simultaneously.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with Google Workspace tools, including Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Gmail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, recurring deadlines, and a high volume of detailed transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in an accounting firm, outsourced accounting company, or professional services environment.
  • Experience implementing new processes or improving existing accounting workflows.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt new cloud-based systems.
