Overview

Senior Practice Manager – Neurosurgery & Neuromedicine Pain ambulatory practice at University of Rochester, Rochester, NY.

Location

601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642.

  • Day‑to‑day management and strategic oversight of high‑volume Neurosurgery & Neuromedicine Pain ambulatory practice.
  • Drive operational efficiency, monitor key performance metrics, ensure high‑quality care delivery, enhance patient experience, and support strong financial performance.
  • Lead diverse, non‑clinical staff using ICARE framework; deliver performance management, staff development, workforce planning.
  • Oversee clinical facility operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Implement quality improvement, patient safety, reporting, and financial performance initiatives.
  • Manage staffing schedules, supervise staff, monitor workflow for productivity.
  • Develop and train staff, conduct performance appraisals, manage time‑off and scheduling.
  • Control charge reconciliation, budget preparation, petty cash, expense management.
  • Analyze patient satisfaction data and advocate resolution of complaints.
  • Participate in committees, prepare ambulatory metrics reports.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in business or health care administration (preferred) with 3 years administrative experience and 2 years management experience in healthcare (required). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Expert proficiency in EMR, Master Scheduling, Billing; advanced typing and Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical practices, terminology, reimbursement policies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Travel to office sites.

Compensation

Base salary range $28.50 - $37.06 per hour (minimum and maximum). Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, considering market data, education, experience, and internal equity.
