Job Description
We are looking for a Locum Specialist Occupational Therapist – Neuro Rehab (Band 6) to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at DMRC Stanford Hall, in Loughborough, Leicestershire. This is a locum role (37.5 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel. Pay Rate PAYE – £24.59 per hour Umbrella – £28.28 per hour Job Description Work as part of a consultant-led team to provide specialist assessment and treatment of patients with complex cognitive problems with a range of neurological diagnoses.
Provide specialist assessment and treatment of patients with a range of neurological diagnoses. Be responsible for planning and prioritising own and departmental workload, and participate in organising and implementing specialist neurological Occupational Therapy services. Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures across the Occupational Therapy neurological service to ensure quality of service provision and evidence-based practice, including implementation of relevant national standards and guidelines.
Provide specialist clinical advice on neurological rehabilitation to Occupational Therapy, undergraduate students, other members of the multidisciplinary team and external agencies/organisations as requested. Comply with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) ‘Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics’ for Allied Health Professionals. Comply with the Code of Occupational Therapists (COT) code of ethics & professional conduct.
Essential Requirements / Qualifications / Experience Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy. Registered with Health and Care Professions Council. State Registered on the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Register.
Evidence of postgraduate training in neurological rehabilitation. Minimum of two years postgraduate experience, including experience working in neurological rehabilitation or neurology at either band 5 or band 6 as an Occupational Therapist. Current certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.
