The Special Education Teacher plays a critical role in supporting middle and high school students with diverse learning needs by designing and implementing tailored educational plans. This teacher works with caseloads ranging from 10 to over 20 students, providing individualized instruction and advocating for student success through collaboration with educators, specialists, and families. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Manage student behavior effectively within classroom settings
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction accordingly
• Deliver specialized curriculum tailored to individual student needs
• Collaborate regularly with teaching staff and specialists through team meetings and co-teaching approaches
• Communicate consistently with parents about student development and needs
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching techniques as required
• Advocate for the academic and social needs of students

Required Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in special education
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Ohio Teaching certification in Special Education
