Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• At Planet Labs, we deliver daily global satellite imagery and geospatial insights that empower businesses, governments, and researchers worldwide. The Corporate Engineering team is building a world-class center of excellence driving AI strategy, enablement, adoption, and business partnership across the Planet organization. We are scaling AI capabilities to transform internal workflows, enhance engineering velocity, and create groundbreaking software experiences.
• We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer – Enterprise AI to lead the hands-on deployment of enterprise-grade AI applications, custom agentic workflows, and foundational AI infrastructure (AI Gateway & Agent Registry) while ensuring strict alignment with regulatory compliance standards.
• This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying applications using GCP and AWS ecosystem
• Learning mindset with the ability to adapt to constant change
• Experience working in regulated engineering environments requiring strict compliance standards (ITAR, EAR, or FedRAMP)
• Expertise in GCP and AWS
• Experience with AI Gateways, Agent Registries, and AI orchestration platforms
• Expertise with Python, Vector Databases, and SQL
• Prior experience with Gemini Enterprise App and Claude Code / Cowork is a huge plus
