Rubrik Storage Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Storage Engineer (L3) – Backup & Recovery is responsible for the design, engineering, operation, and optimization of enterprise data protection platforms supporting mission-critical workloads. This role serves as a technical leader and escalation point, ensuring high availability, recoverability, and cyber resilience across hybrid environments. The engineer will lead initiatives leveraging IBM Storage Protect, IBM Storage Defender Data Protect, Commvault, and Rubrik, with a strong focus on disaster recovery, ransomware protection, and enterprise-scale backup architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, operate, and optimize enterprise backup and recovery platforms supporting mission-critical workloads.
• Serve as a technical leader and L3 escalation point for backup, recovery, and data protection issues.
• Manage and support IBM Storage Protect and IBM Storage Defender Data Protect environments.
• Manage and support Commvault and Rubrik backup and recovery platforms.
• Design and implement enterprise-scale backup architectures across hybrid environments.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions to ensure high availability and recoverability.
• Implement data protection strategies focused on ransomware resilience and cyber recovery.
• Troubleshoot complex backup, recovery, replication, and data protection issues.
• Optimize backup infrastructure, performance, capacity, and operational reliability.
• Support enterprise initiatives involving backup modernization, recovery optimization, and cyber resilience.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to ensure effective data protection across enterprise environments.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Storage Protect.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Storage Defender Data Protect.
• Strong hands-on experience with Commvault.
• Strong hands-on experience with Rubrik.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
• Strong understanding of disaster recovery, ransomware protection, cyber resilience, and enterprise data protection.
• Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience operating at an L3 engineering or technical escalation level.
