Software Engineer in Test

Our client, an enterprise technology platform supporting mission-critical financial and workforce operations (payroll, onboarding, accounting), is hiring a Senior SDET Mobile, Back and/or Frontend focused, to own quality across backend services, web applications, and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and product teams to define acceptance criteria and test strategy
• Build and maintain automation frameworks across API, web, and mobile layers
• Validate REST/GraphQL APIs, contract testing, and service-to-service integrations
• Perform manual and automated testing across iOS, Android, and modern web (React) applications
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable feedback
• Validate data integrity across systems, including SQL-based checks
• Troubleshoot across API, UI, and data layers; drive root cause analysis
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test coverage, and defects
• Support compliance and audit readiness in a regulated, financial-data environment

Requirements

• 5+ years in Software Quality Engineering or QA Automation
• Experience testing REST and/or GraphQL APIs, with strong SQL/data validation skills
• Experience with UI and/or mobile automation frameworks
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of microservices/distributed system architecture
• Ability to convert ambiguous requirements into clear, testable scenarios

• AI-assisted development/testing tooling experience
• Experience in regulated environments (financial systems, payroll, compliance)
