Location: Kochi / Bengaluru Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer with strong GIS, Remote Sensing, and spatial analytics expertise. The role focuses on geospatial software development, satellite data processing, and applying large-scale analytics to real-world sustainability and decision-support challenges. Key Responsibilities GIS & Spatial Analytics * Perform spatial analysis using GIS, remote sensing, and satellite imagery. * Process, clean, and validate raster, vector, and time-series geospatial datasets. * Build automated pipelines for mapping, data visualization, and geospatial dashboards.
Satellite + Remote Sensing Workflows * Handle multispectral and hyperspectral datasets (Sentinel, Landsat, commercial imagery, UAV/drone data where applicable). * Develop scripts for data ingestion, clipping, resampling, mosaicking, and feature extraction. * Work on classification, change detection, feature engineering, and spectral analytics. Software Engineering * Develop modular and scalable Python-based tools and services. * Work with APIs, cloud compute, distributed processing, and edge environments. * Manage large datasets using efficient storage, caching, and data streaming approaches. Collaboration & Delivery * Work with consulting, engineering, and analytics teams to deliver projects. * Support PoCs, demo preparation, and client solution deployment. * Maintain clear documentation for workflows, results, and integration steps.
Required Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor’s/Master’s in GIS, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Earth/Environmental Sciences, or Computer Science. * 2–4 years of experience in GIS/Remote Sensing/Data Engineering roles. * Hands-on experience with Sentinel, Landsat, and Hyperspectral imagery. * Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, rasterio, geopandas, shapely). * Knowledge of GIS tools: QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, PostGIS. * Experience with projections, raster/vector processing, map tiling. * Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker). * Excellent communication, documentation, and debugging skills. Desirable Extras * Knowledge of ML/AI for geospatial applications. * Familiarity with OSM data, WMS/WFS services, and routing engines. * Awareness of edge compute devices and hardware-limited processing.
