Job Description The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Developer to join the National Systems Programs (NSP) software team located in Seal Beach, California. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. Position Responsibilities Lead design, development, test, and maintenance of web applications that meet industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.

Lead review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into initial design of software products. Coordinate development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations. Lead activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products.

Lead the Agile software development lifecycle including planning, reviews, and supporting customer meetings. Debug and lead resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products. Lead handling of user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis.

Lead research and implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development. Lead development, establishment, monitoring and improvement of software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks. Lead execution and documentation of software research and development projects.

Consult on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Lead software project management activities and software supplier management functions. Lead tracking and evaluation of software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Active Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance with SCI eligibility and adjudicated polygraph pre‑start. 5+ years’ experience in foundation Computer Science knowledge. 5+ years’ experience in Python. 5+ years’ experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript including frameworks like React.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience. Experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks. Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns. 2+ years’ experience with Agile or SAFe practices, including daily standup, User Stories, Sprints, and Release Planning.

Familiarity with relational databases. Experience with Infrastructure Tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines). Experience in writing and executing test cases, including unit, integration, and system testing, to ensure software functionality and performance meet specifications.

Experience with systems engineering or software development on space‑based or ground‑based systems. Requirements Full‑time, 100% onsite in Seal Beach, California. The candidate will need to work on‑site at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance with adjudicated polygraph. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Travel: Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Shift: 1st shift. Location: Seal Beach, California. Benefits Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range/Experience: $181,800 - $222,200. Eligible employees have access to health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and various paid/unpaid time off options. Specific programs available may vary by location, hire date, and collective bargaining agreements.
