Software Developer - Python

Role Description As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing code, tests, and debugging new software or enhancements to existing software. You will have a good understanding of business applications as well as user, performance, quality, interface, and security requirements to support a forensic and investigative ecosystem across multiple enterprise applications in a multi‑enclave environment. Key Responsibilities Develop, test, and debug new software solutions and enhancements to existing applications Work with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them Resolve customer complaints with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements Implement desktop design, testing, security lockdown, and integration with standard software packages Integrate with automated patching and deployment technologies Assist in development of software user manuals Document applications, services, and environments for future maintenance Automate application and configuration deployments and updates Participate in Program Increments (PIs) and Agile Release Train (ART) activities Support the multi‑enclave environment (Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret) Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration Clearance Level Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Experience Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development Experience with SAFe Agile framework Strong understanding of forensic and investigative data requirements Demonstrated experience designing and implementing software solutions in secure government environments Python, Splunk, and Cribl experience needed Advanced proficiency with Multiple programming languages and frameworks Message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Redis Lucene‑based search/indexing platforms: Elasticsearch and Apache Solr Data streaming and integration technologies such as Apache Nifi Containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) API design, versioning, and integration best practices DevSecOps practices and tools Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Additional Technical Experience Data processing, automation and ETL workflow orchestration GraphQL Server side technologies (Apache Tomcat) Log analytics and observability platforms, particularly Splunk Working in classified environments Primary location: Chantilly, VA May require occasional travel for Program Increment planning sessions Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check and polygraph examination May require flexible scheduling to support critical operations Benefits at Sentar Voluntary Medical, Dental, Vision, with Health Savings or Flexible Spending Plan options Voluntary Life, Critical Illness, Accident, and Long Term Care insurance options Group Term Life, Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability is provided by Sentar to all qualifying employees Generous 401(k) match Competitive PTO plan that graduates quickly with years of service Other leave programs; holiday schedule along with bereavement, maternity, jury and military duty Sentar is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer M/F/Vets/Persons with Disabilities.
