Detailed JD:

We are looking for an experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) Senior Associate with strong hands-on expertise in ServiceNow SAM Pro to manage the end-to-end software asset lifecycle, ensure license compliance, and drive cost optimization across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the SAM lifecycle, strong technical skills in analyzing audit-ready data, and working knowledge of licensing models for at least one major publisher (Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, SAP, etc.). This role partners closely with IT, procurement, finance, and vendors to proactively reduce compliance risk exposure and drive license optimization and cost avoidance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, administer, and maintain ServiceNow SAM Pro and related discovery tools, ensuring accurate normalization, reconciliation, and entitlement data.
  • Oversee data accuracy within ServiceNow SAM Pro and related discovery tools, performing regular data quality checks and reconciliation.
  • Apply strong technical skills in analyzing audit-ready data to support internal and publisher audits with accurate, defensible position reports.
  • Reduce compliance risk exposure through proactive monitoring of license entitlements, deployments, and usage against contractual terms.
  • Drive license optimization and cost avoidance initiatives by identifying underutilized, over-deployed, or unused licenses and recommending reharvesting or true-down opportunities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of licensing models (subscription, SaaS, core-based, user-based, device-based, etc.) and how they map entitlement records in SAM Pro.
  • Build and maintain in-depth licensing knowledge of at least one major publisher (Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, SAP, or similar), including product use rights and licensing terms.
  • Support effective license positions (ELPs), true-ups, and renewal forecasting in partnership with procurement and finance.
  • Collaborate with IT operations, procurement, and vendor management teams to ensure software deployments and retirements remain compliant.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards on license utilization, compliance gaps, and cost-saving opportunities for stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external software audits, ensuring data accuracy, timely responses, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with Configuration, Change, and Incident Management to keep software asset and entitlement records aligned with broader ITSM/ITAM processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and automation of SAM processes, tools, and reporting.
