Role Overview

Site Engineer

Our client, a leading residential developer, is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join their construction team in Dublin. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality residential developments, ensuring works are completed accurately, safely, and in line with project requirements.

The Site Engineer will be responsible for setting out, technical coordination, quality control, and supporting the Site Management team throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Technical Delivery

  • Carry out accurate setting out and surveying duties using Total Station/GPS equipment.
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical information.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with project drawings and design requirements.
  • Provide technical support and resolve site issues efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including as-built information and quality documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical submissions and reports.

Site Coordination

  • Work closely with the Site Manager, subcontractors, consultants, and design teams.
  • Coordinate engineering requirements across various construction activities.
  • Monitor progress and ensure works are completed to programme.
  • Identify potential issues and communicate solutions promptly.
  • Assist with planning and sequencing of works.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all works comply with company quality standards and project specifications.
  • Carry out inspections and maintain quality control procedures.
  • Support snagging and handover processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements on site.

Health & Safety

  • Promote a strong safety culture across the project.
  • Participate in site inspections and safety briefings.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with relevant legislation and company procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience working as a Site Engineer within the construction industry.
  • Experience on residential developments is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and site processes.
  • Proficient in setting out and surveying techniques.
  • Good understanding of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Safe Pass
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • Temporary Works Coordinator experience (desirable)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, or construction management software
