Job Description
The Revit Technician will be responsible for creating architectural, mechanical & electrical design drawings and schematics associated with development of layout building plans, elevations, sections, utility drawings, P&IDs, machinery layout drawings, electrical drawings, mechanical drawings and isometrics working within the Projects and Engineering Departments.
About the Role
Working closely with our engineers and project teams, you will assist in the development of coordinated design models and construction documentation while ensuring drawings are produced accurately, efficiently and to company standards. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the wider group, contributing to a diverse range of national and international projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D Revit models from engineers’ sketches, calculations and design information
- Prepare mechanical and electrical services layouts, plans, sections, elevations and detailed drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Assist with the production of pipework layouts, isometric drawings and plantroom models where required
- Update and revise drawings throughout the project lifecycle to reflect design changes
- Support engineers in developing coordinated M&E models and drawing packages
- Assist with model coordination and identify potential clashes for review by the design team
- Process and utilise point cloud survey data where applicable
- Ensure all drawings and models comply with company standards and project requirements
- Maintain organised drawing records and documentation in accordance with company procedures
- Attend project coordination meetings as required
- Carry out occasional site visits to undertake surveys, verify existing conditions and gather information to support design development
- Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers and external consultants to deliver projects on time.
Qualifications
- FETAC Level 6, City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Engineering, CAD or a related discipline.
- Relevant qualifications in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Technology.
Required Skills
- 2–3 years' experience using Revit within a building services or M&E consulting environment
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical building services drawings
- Good understanding of architectural, civil and structural engineering drawings
- Experience producing coordinated Revit models and construction drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills
- Experience producing M&E drawings
- Good understanding of Revit MEP
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and sketches
- Experience using SketchUp
- Knowledge of point cloud survey data
- Experience within pharmaceutical, food or industrial projects
- Knowledge of BIM workflows and coordination
Pay range and compensation package
Some visits to site in Ireland and abroad may be required.
