We are looking to appoint a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse for the orthopaedic Ward L35 at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). We are looking for a dynamic Sister/Charge nurse, who thrives under pressure, and would be proactive and involved in continuous change and development of the ward, who can work collaboratively and as part of a large MDT.

Applicants must be enthusiastic and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Knowledge/experience of audits, Mentorship, Orthopaedic surgery would be advantageous in this role however support for personal and professional development will be given according to the needs of the individual. Responsibilities Lead and oversee Ward L35 (27 trauma and orthopaedic beds) providing direct strong leadership, teaching, auditing, and clinical skills to support the service.

Proactively participate in continuous development and change within the ward and work collaboratively with a large multidisciplinary team (MDT). Ensure high-quality, patient-centred care and effective ward management. Utilise flexible shift patterns across days, nights, weekends and bank holidays following full training and a supernumerary period.

Demonstrate excellent communication and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently, using initiative to make decisions in a busy environment. Qualifications and Experience Registered nurse, preferably with experience in trauma orthopaedic or surgical nursing. Previous experience in ward management or team leadership is advantageous.

Knowledge of audits and mentorship is desirable. What you will bring Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure and engage with a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility to work across shifts, with a commitment to training and a period of supernumerary support.
