Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Specialist to join a cutting-edge engineering team focused on the development of next-generation battery systems and control technologies. In this role, you will take ownership of simulation, modelling, and control system development for advanced battery applications. You'll work at the intersection of algorithm design, system modelling, and real-world validation, playing a key role in shaping innovative energy solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong MATLAB/Simulink expertise and a passion for control systems, particularly within battery or electrification domains. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of control systems and algorithms for battery and thermal management systems Design and simulate system state diagrams and control strategies Evaluate and validate algorithm performance through simulation and testing Research and implement advanced control techniques and architectures Develop and maintain high-fidelity system models for batteries and associated subsystems Support hardware testing and validation, including test bench environments Document modelling approaches, control strategies, and system behaviour Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical and firmware teams to communicate design intent Experience & Qualifications Proven experience working with high-voltage battery systems or similar electrified systems Strong background in control systems, algorithms, and system modelling Experience with filtering, estimation techniques, and algorithm development Hands‑on experience in battery testing, characterization, or assembly is an asset Technical Expertise Advanced proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink (MathWorks ecosystem) Strong data analysis skills using MATLAB or Python Experience with Speedgoat real‑time systems or similar HIL (Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop) platforms is preferred Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and thermal principles related to battery systems Education Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Key Attributes Strong analytical and mathematical problem‑solving skills Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and system performance Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex technical concepts Compensation and Benefits $95K-$120K depending on experience.
