Job Description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm on the appointment of a SHEQ Manager.
As a SHEQ Manager, you will lead and implement the organisation's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality strategies, ensuring compliance, safety, and continuous improvement across all operations. You will play a key role in managing the Integrated Management System (IMS), maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the business's quality, environmental and operational objectives.
In your new role:
- Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Manage the Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant regulatory and quality requirements
- Lead and conduct regular audits, risk assessments, inspections and calibration activities to identify areas for improvement and mitigate risk
- Promote a safety-first culture by delivering training, coaching and awareness programmes for staff at all levels
- Oversee incident reporting, investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, driving operational excellence across health, safety, environmental and quality performance
- Collaborate with department leaders and key stakeholders to establish and achieve SHEQ objectives aligned with business goals
- Prepare and present SHEQ reports and performance metrics to senior management, making recommendations for improvement
- Stay up to date with changes in legislation, regulatory requirements and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance
What you will need to succeed:
- 3+ years' experience in a similar Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality role
- Relevant NEBOSH qualification (or willingness to work towards this)
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Experience managing audits, risk assessments, investigations, inspections and compliance reporting
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP, MES or other manufacturing systems would be advantageous
- Understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies
- Good communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills
- Excellent IT skills (MS Office)
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- IOSH membership
- NEBOSH Environmental Certificate
- Internal Auditor certification
