Service Technician (Field)

We have opportunities at our Eastern Creek branch for a Mobile Plant Mechanic known internally as a Service Technician (Field).

This field-based will see you working on a range of Vermeer Equipment and will entail general service and repairs to major overhauls and new machine assembly.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnose, inspect, repair, and service heavy diesel equipment and machinery
• Perform engine overhauls, hydraulic and electrical system repairs, and general maintenance tasks
• Accurately document work completed, including parts used, time taken, and fluids consumed
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and schematics
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols and company procedures
• Provide professional and customer-focused service, identifying and communicating solutions
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills
• Deliver expert service and support to our customers and partners
• Contribute to a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

• Mechanical Trade Certificate
• Excellent organisational skills
• Previous experience of engine overhauls and major repairs including electrical, hydraulic and diagnostic skills
• A current and valid driver’s licence
• A mature attitude and logical and methodical approach to your work which will enable you to work through problems in both a workshop and field environment.
• Possession of high-risk work tickets and/or licenses would be highly regarded
• HR License highly regarded
