Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to help lead day-to-day operations and support the General Manager in driving team performance, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with a strong hospitality background who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The right candidate leads by example, communicates effectively, and knows how to maintain high service standards.

As Service Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the business. You will oversee front-of-house service, support back-of-house coordination, develop staff, and help create an exceptional guest experience every day. This role will also help lead private events, including weddings, and coordinate with our off-site event planner to ensure seamless execution.

Depending on experience, this role may range from floor leadership and service execution to advanced operational management, including inventory oversight, team development, financial performance, and event execution. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations Partner with the General Manager to support daily operations and business objectives Lead front-of-house service with confidence, clarity, and strong floor presence Ensure smooth, efficient service execution across front and back of house Communicate effectively with culinary leadership and management team Drive accountability, productivity, and operational consistency Team Leadership & Development Train, coach, and support staff through ongoing feedback and hands-on leadership Delegate responsibilities clearly and ensure tasks are completed to standard Build and maintain a positive, team-oriented, and accountable culture Operations & Standards Oversee inventory controls and key operational systems Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety, and sanitation standards Guest Experience Deliver and uphold high standards of hospitality and service excellence Welcome and engage guests while accommodating needs professionally Address and resolve guest concerns quickly and thoughtfully Monitor service flow and proactively improve the guest experience Private Events Lead on-site private events, including weddings and special functions Coordinate staffing, service flow, and guest experience for all events Ensure seamless execution from setup through completion Qualifications Passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure 2+ years of experience as a Manager or similar leadership role Proven leadership skills in a hospitality environment Ability to motivate teams and hold staff accountable Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Detail-oriented with strong observational awareness Knowledge of food and beverage operations Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation standards Basic computer and math proficiency Being a Tetris Master is a plus What We’re Looking For Strong organizational and multitasking skills Commitment to continuous learning and growth Adaptability during busy shifts, events, and changing priorities A team builder who raises performance standards More detail about Big Bear Cafe, please visit https://culinaryagents.com/entities/15880-Big-Bear-Cafe
