The Role β Field Service Engineer As a Field Service Engineer, you will be a key technical expert supporting customers nationwide. You will be responsible for: Installation, service, repair, and commissioning of a wide range of food processing machinery Electrical fault finding, including interpreting and working from electrical drawings Diagnosing and repairing faults on PLCs, HMIs, and 3-phase (up to 415V) systems Running and terminating Ethernet cables and network connections Mechanical work on bearings, shafts, pulleys, chains, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics Completing preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime for customers Working away from home up to 4 nights per week, covering sites across the UK Visiting a variety of customer environments including fisheries, poultry farms, and meat processing plants This is a hands-on, varied role that requires a self-sufficient, customer-focused engineer who enjoys problem solving and working with complex machinery.
Qualifications & Experience The ideal candidate will have: Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (preferred) Solid experience within FMCG, ideally in food or packaging machinery environments Knowledge of PLC systems (basic fault finding and I/O diagnostics) Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, motors, drives) Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and stay away during the week Why Apply?
