• Perform physical and mechanical material testing, including tensile, compression, and strength testing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment and associated instruments.
• Collect, process, and interpret test results and experimental data.
• Support material development and validation activities for composite structures.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of laboratory activities and test outcomes.
• Troubleshoot testing procedures and recommend process improvements where appropriate.
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and technical stakeholders on development projects.
• Mentor and support junior laboratory technicians and less experienced team members.
• Maintain laboratory safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
Requirements
• HBO degree, MLO qualification, Master's degree, or equivalent education in Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Composite Technology, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5 to 10 years of experience working with composite materials in a laboratory, testing, or R&D environment.
• Candidates with at least 2 years of strong relevant experience may also be considered.
• Knowledge of (composite) manufacturing techniques and specimen preparation.
• Experience performing mechanical and physical material testing using laboratory equipment.
• Ability to analyse and interpret testing data accurately.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Background within the wind energy, aerospace, aviation, marine, shipbuilding, or other high-tech manufacturing industries is prefered.
• Experience gained in organisations focused on advanced composites and large-scale engineering products.
