As we continue to scale our digital platforms and data capabilities, we are looking for a Senior Technical Architect, AI & Data Platforms to shape our technology vision and build the digital foundations of a global football organization.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a senior technology leader with strong experience in system architecture, full-stack development, AI and data platforms.

Do you have proven experience designing complex, scalable systems and APIs?

Do you have strong full-stack development experience across frontend and backend?

Can you demonstrate hands-on experience with AI technologies, including agentic, generative and predictive AI?

Do you have experience designing data platforms, pipelines and models?

Are you experienced with cloud architectures such as AWS and/or Azure?

Do you excel in global environments and multidisciplinary teams?

Are you fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken?

🛠 Key Responsibilities

•          Own the technical architecture of AS1’s digital platforms, from frontend to backend and infrastructure.

•          Design and lead the development of scalable, high-performance full-stack applications.

•          Define and maintain APIs, backend services, frontend applications and data architectures.

•          Lead the integration of AI technologies into real-world business workflows.

•          Design data models and pipelines supporting AI-driven features and insights.

•          Ensure AI solutions are production-ready, scalable, secure and aligned with business needs.

•          Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure across AWS and/or Azure.

•          Ensure system security, observability, scalability and cost-efficiency.

•          Partner with Product, Data Science and business teams to shape product feasibility and technical solutions.

•          Define software development practices and drive GenAI adoption across the software development lifecycle.

•          Contribute to support and operations frameworks, ensuring high availability and system reliability.

•          Stay ahead of emerging technologies and continuously improve AS1’s technology landscape.

🧠 Key Skills & Knowledge

•          Strong expertise in technical architecture, system design and scalable platforms.

•          Extensive full-stack development experience across frontend and backend.

•          Proven experience designing data analytics platforms.

•          Hands-on experience with agentic, generative and predictive AI.

•          Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.

•          Experience with APIs, cloud architecture and modern software development practices.

•          Strong systems-thinking and problem-solving skills.

•          Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

•          Understanding of the football industry is a plus, but not essential.

•          Fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.

Education & Experience

•          10+ years of professional experience in senior engineering or technical architecture roles.

•          Proven track record of owning complex systems and platforms in production environments.

•          Experience taking technical ownership from concept through to production.

•          International experience and working with global or distributed teams is highly valued.

•          Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.

•          Location: Spain, preferible Madrid.

•          Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish.

•          Work environment: International, multidisciplinary and fast-paced.

•          Reporting structure: Working closely with leadership, Product and Data teams.
