The Senior Sourcing Analyst is a key contributor responsible for executing strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple material and services categories. This role drives cost savings, supports working capital improvements, and ensures alignment between sourcing strategies and business unit objectives. This individual partners closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to analyze spend, develop sourcing strategies, and execute end-to-end sourcing events.
The role combines analytical rigor with strong business acumen to deliver measurable value across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Sourcing Execution Execute sourcing strategies across multiple direct and indirect categories Support development of category strategies using market intelligence and data analysis Align sourcing initiatives with business unit objectives and operational needs Ensure disciplined execution of sourcing processes and methodologies Spend Analysis & Data-Driven Insights Perform detailed spend analysis to identify cost savings and optimization opportunities Utilize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies to evaluate sourcing decisions Analyze pricing drivers, market trends, and supplier cost structures Develop actionable insights to support sourcing strategies Sourcing Event Leadership (RFx) Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including: Requirements gathering RFx development and execution Supplier evaluation and analysis Recommendation development and presentation Communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders at multiple levels Supplier Management & Negotiation Support Build and maintain effective supplier relationships Support and participate in contract negotiations and supplier selection Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms Stay informed on supplier capabilities, innovations, and market developments Cost Savings & Working Capital Improvement Identify, track, and report cost savings initiatives Support working capital reduction efforts through sourcing strategies Maintain accurate documentation of savings and performance metrics Contribute to achieving or exceeding sourcing targets Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a liaison between Global Sourcing and Business Units Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand sourcing needs Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams Support alignment between sourcing strategies and operational requirements Contract Development & Administration Support drafting, negotiation, and execution of supplier agreements Ensure contracts align with company objectives and risk tolerance Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations Maintain organized and accurate contract documentation Continuous Improvement & Process Support Identify opportunities to improve sourcing processes and tools Support system enhancements and sourcing-related initiatives (e.g., ERP, SAP) Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement efforts Promote standardization and best practices across sourcing activities Qualifications/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or related field 5+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or related experience Experience in manufacturing environments (fabrication, foundry, commodities), with railroad industry experience preferred ERP system experience required (SAP strongly preferred) Ability to travel up to 25% throughout the US.
