Senior Software Engineer – Backend $130,000 to $140,000 + bonus Scottsdale, PHX - onsite 4 days per week Our client is a large-scale, nationally recognised residential real estate business, managing thousands of single-family rental homes across the US. The Role As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be a core part of a dynamic, agile engineering team responsible for designing and delivering high-performance, cloud-native applications on AWS. You'll work closely with architects and senior developers, contributing to both technical strategy and hands-on delivery — with roughly an 80/20 backend/frontend split. Speed to market matters here.

What You'll Be Doing Designing and building scalable, cloud-native microservices using AWS Serverless, Kubernetes, Docker, Node.js, and TypeScript Working with MongoDB and key-value stores for performant data solutions Contributing to technical design of cloud and digital platforms alongside architects and senior engineers Evaluating emerging technologies and developing proof-of-concept solutions Refactoring and re-architecting existing software where needed Building reusable components and driving consolidation across projects Supporting testing, UAT, deployment, and post-release activities Managing bugs, features, and issues through JIRA Producing and reviewing solution blueprints and architecture documentation What They're Looking For 6–8 years of solid backend development experience building internet-scale web/mobile applications and public APIs Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, AWS Serverless, and MongoDB Proven experience building microservices and REST APIs with a focus on system design Solid understanding of public cloud (AWS preferred) and both SQL and NoSQL Experience across the full SDLC — Agile, iterative development, CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub/BitBucket, Docker, containers) Strong communicator — comfortable engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders Exposure to React, React Native, GraphQL, or Salesforce is a plus Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering discipline
