Position

Senior Software Developer – Lead the design and delivery of complex software solutions that support critical university systems, report to the Software & Integration Development Principal and shape technical approaches across the University.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of complex software solutions for university systems.
  • Deliver innovative solutions using .NET, Azure and modern cloud development practices.
  • Integrate enterprise platforms such as TechnologyOne, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Blackboard.
  • Mentor developers and contribute to strong engineering standards and technical clarity.
  • Explore and implement AI‑driven capabilities within enterprise software solutions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, ideally with 6+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong expertise across the Microsoft .NET development ecosystem (VB.NET, .NET Framework 4.8, EF6, Blazor) and modern software architecture.
  • Proficiency with enterprise reporting and data tools (Crystal Reports, Oracle SQL).
  • Experience delivering AI‑powered features in production (LLMs, RAG, Semantic search, copilots).
  • Cloud development experience, ideally with Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as TechnologyOne, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Blackboard or Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience working in higher education or other complex enterprise environments.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Full‑time, permanent role.
  • Locations: Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450; Gold Coast, QLD 4225; or Lismore, NSW 2480.
  • HEW Level 8 – base salary range $120,756 – $133,154 per annum, plus 17% employer contribution to superannuation (total remuneration up to $155,790).
