Senior SAP Project Systems Functional Analyst

Dasro is looking for a Senior SAP Project Systems Functional Analyst for one of its clients in Calgary, AB. Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid - Mon/Tue/Thu onsite, Wed/Fri remote) Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension) Start date : 07/06/2026, End date: 03/31/2027 Position Overview The Senior SAP Project Systems Functional Analyst will serve as a functional specialist and architectural thinker responsible for designing, validating, and governing SAP S/4HANA Project Systems (PS) and SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM) processes. Entering the Design Phase of the active SAP Plus transformation program, this role acts as a critical conduit and governance authority between the internal Project Systems team and the System Integrator (SI).

The successful candidate will ensure end-to-end PS processes are fit-for-standard, scalable, and rigidly aligned with clean-core principles to prevent unnecessary customization and manage delivery risk. This role requires deep, transformation-level functional expertise and active integration governance across a complex project systems ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Design, validate, and govern SAP S/4HANA PS and EPPM functional design from day one across project initiation, forecasting, and the full project lifecycle.

Lead and facilitate fit-to-standard design workshops across Project Systems domains. Document where SAP standard adoption occurs and where justified deviations exist, holding the line against unnecessary customizations. Partner closely with the System Integrator (SI) to review, approve, and oversee functional designs and technical specifications, ensuring high-quality delivery and preventing overbuild.

Validate, govern, and active-design integration requirements between the S/4HANA core and the external project systems ecosystem, including Omega PIMS, Primavera, Hexagon, Cleopatra, and Omega 365. Track and map how cost and schedule data flow from these systems into SAP project cost objects. Coordinate across high-visibility, cross-functional business lines—acting as a bridge at the middle-to-upper management level simultaneously across Finance, Project Operations, Asset Management, and Engineering.

Own operational stability and go-live readiness for Project Systems domains. Define functional test scenarios, validate project master and transactional data readiness, and support detailed cutover planning. Schedule, monitor, and report on team deliverables and milestones, ensuring on-time, on-budget project delivery and the proactive handling of production problems.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 8–15 years of experience as an SAP functional specialist, with deep functional expertise validated through at least one major full-lifecycle ERP transformation program (Greenfield S/4HANA implementation highly preferred). Must possess deep, hands-on SAP S/4HANA PS or EPPM implementation/design experience. General SAP or legacy ECC-only backgrounds, or experience limited purely to post-go-live support/maintenance, will not be considered.

Strong familiarity with the broader project systems landscape (Hexagon, Cleopatra, Omega 365). Direct, hands-on design experience integrating SAP PS with Omega PIMS and/or Primavera is heavily prioritized as the single most critical differentiator. Previous background in Energy, Utilities, Engineering, or capital-intensive/heavy industrial project environments.

Clear, referenceable articulation of fit-to-standard thinking and clean-core execution. Awareness of SAP data analytics and embedded reporting is required. SAP PS or EPPM certification is an asset.

PMP, ISTQB, or Agile/Scrum certifications are valued additions.
