About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and engineering support across the electrical scope of a major infrastructure project based in Naval Base, Perth.

Reporting to the Project Manager or Head of PMO (as delegated), you will oversee electrical engineering activities across design review, construction, installation, commissioning, and quality assurance. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure electrical systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, Australian Standards, and client specifications.

Key areas of focus include:

• Review and validate electrical designs, including drawings, schematics, control systems, and layouts.
• Provide technical guidance throughout electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor electrical works to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Manage electrical quality assurance processes, including inspections, testing documentation, and compliance reporting.
• Support project delivery through risk management, change management, cost control, and technical problem solving.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.

About You

This role is suited to an experienced Electrical Engineer who enjoys being close to the delivery of major projects and seeing engineering solutions move from concept through to completion. You will bring your expertise in electrical systems, construction delivery, and engineering compliance to help solve complex technical challenges across infrastructure, utilities, and industrial environments.

Working alongside project teams, contractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders, you will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. From coordinating technical outcomes and resolving site challenges through to supporting commissioning and handover, you will help turn engineering plans into successful project outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8+ years’ experience in engineering roles, with demonstrated experience in a senior project engineering capacity.
• Experience delivering electrical design reviews, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation, and SCADA integration.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and technical stakeholders within a project environment.
• Understanding of Australian electrical standards, including AS/NZS 3000.
• Strong understanding of HSE, quality assurance, and project delivery processes.

Highly regarded

• Experience in water, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering construction environments.
• Experience working with client standards and specifications within regulated industries.
• CPEng, RPEQ, PMP, or other relevant professional certifications.
