The Role
As a Senior O2C Specialist (German + English), you will play a key role in managing and optimizing the end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) process for the German-speaking market. Beyond daily operations, you will act as a subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with financial controls, improving operational efficiency, supporting strategic initiatives, and mentoring junior colleagues.
This position is ideal for experienced finance professionals who enjoy combining operational excellence with stakeholder management, process improvement, and leadership responsibilities in a multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Order-to-Cash Operations
Manage the complete O2C cycle, ensuring timely and accurate order processing, invoicing, cash application, collections, and account reconciliation.
Monitor Accounts Receivable performance and proactively resolve outstanding balances.
Investigate and resolve complex billing issues, payment discrepancies, and customer disputes.
Ensure accurate customer master data and compliance with internal financial policies.
Financial Controls & Compliance
Maintain strong adherence to internal controls, SOX requirements, and company compliance standards.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
Prepare documentation and provide support during internal and external audits.
Ensure financial transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong relationships with customers, internal finance teams, sales, customer service, and business stakeholders.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues efficiently.
Lead discussions and negotiations regarding outstanding receivables and dispute resolution.
Process Improvement & Leadership
Identify opportunities to improve O2C processes and drive operational excellence initiatives.
Support automation and continuous improvement projects.
Mentor junior team members, share best practices, and provide operational guidance.
Contribute to KPI reporting, performance analysis, and management presentations.
What You Bring
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
5โ7 years of experience in Order-to-Cash, Accounts Receivable, or Finance Operations.
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory, senior, or team lead role.
Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash processes, financial controls, and compliance frameworks.
Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, financial analysis, Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas.
Experience working within multinational and multi-currency environments.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and support colleagues.
Native or fluent German (C1/C2) and advanced English (C1), both written and spoken.
