Job Description SAIC is seeking a TACNET CB-ISEA Senior Network Engineer (Fleet Support) to join our team in Bremerton, WA . This role is REMOTE but MUST BE LOCAL TO AREA due to onâsite needs. The engineer will work directly with Active Duty personnel and government staff to deliver highâquality repair and technical support for Navy afloat networks, including systems such as ADNS, ISNS, CANES, CENTRIXS, Legacy SCI, VIXS, and WRBS .
Travel within the U.S. and internationally may be required (approximately 25%), along with occasional afterâhours support. Job Duties Provide break/fix IT support in a fastâpaced shipboard environment and troubleshoot LAN issues to determine effective resolutions. Perform rootâcause analysis and recommend permanent configuration or system changes when needed.
Collaborate with external partners, consultants, vendors, and government agencies to resolve interâsystem issues and support integration efforts. Deliver server and network break/fix support, including remote troubleshooting of servers, networks, desktops, and peripheral devices. Advise and guide Navy customers on best practices for maintaining afloat networks and associated components supporting data, voice, and communication services.
Participate in technical meetings, prepare progress updates, and deliver briefs and presentations as needed. Support engineering and design reviews through participation in integrated product teams. Qualifications Bachelorâs degree and five (5) years or more experience; Masterâs degree and three (3) years or more experience. (An additional eight (8) years of experience may substitute for a bachelorâs degree.) Six or more years of experience supporting military network environments relevant to the listed responsibilities.
Must have an active Secret Clearance to start. Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI after start. Administration experience with Cisco switches/routers , Windows Server , or Linux .
Working knowledge of core networking concepts and protocols. Current DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ ). Ability to obtain an approved operatingâsystem certification (e.g., CCNA , Microsoft Server Hybrid Administrator Associate , Linux+ , VCP , or equivalent) within six (6) months of hire.
Desired Skills Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining enterpriseâscale networks (LAN/WAN/MAN/datacenter). Proficiency with enterprise wireless technologies (802.11 standards, controllerâbased systems, RF design, tuning, and modern security such as WPA3/802.1X). Knowledge of highâavailability architectures including HSRP/VRRP, redundant WAN edges, load balancing, and resilient datacenter fabrics.
Handsâon experience with nextâgeneration firewalls, segmentation approaches, and zeroâtrust architectures across large networks. Experience supporting hybrid infrastructures integrating onâprem networks with Azure , AWS , or GovCloud and secure identity integration. Strong troubleshooting skills, including performing rootâcause analysis and developing corrective actions that minimize operational impact.
Ability to collaborate with customers, partners, and engineering teams to resolve highâseverity issues and represent the team in crossâfunctional forums. Two or more years of experience with IT ticketing systems such as HEAT, TrackIT, Magic, Remedy, Peregrine, or HELIX. Experience supporting Microsoft Office and Windows OS in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with afloat Navy systems including CANES, ADNS, CENTRIXS, ISNS/ORT, ONEâNET, SCIâNetworks, SUBâLAN, VIXS, WRBS, CND, and SCIPâIWF . Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000.
