Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing and analyzing mechanical systems. This role provides expert technical guidance, oversees complex projects, and ensures that all designs comply with industry standards and project requirements. The Mechanical Engineer applies advanced engineering principles, manages project teams, and resolves highly complex technical challenges.

In addition, the role involves mentoring junior engineers, estimating project costs, and preparing proposals, schedules, and technical specifications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Technical Leadership and Project Contribution: Provides expert technical support throughout the engineering process, contributing to the design, analysis, and successful completion of mechanical engineering projects. Utilizes best practice engineering methods and advanced techniques to drive innovation and solve complex problems. • Project Analysis and Advanced Calculations: Performs advanced technical calculations and analyzes project requirements to ensure feasibility and compliance with engineering standards.

Assesses project needs for materials, personnel, and timelines, preparing estimates and proposals as required. • Field Inspections and Infrastructure Assessments: Conducts field inspections of structures and mechanical systems to verify adherence to specifications, safety standards, and regulations. Assists in assessing aging infrastructure and manages improvement projects. • Complex Design and Development Oversight: Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of intricate mechanical designs. Oversees the design, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems to ensure they meet client and regulatory expectations. • Design Review and Optimization: Reviews engineering drawings and designs for adherence to specifications, industry standards, and codes.

Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original designs and final CAD models, optimizing designs for efficiency and effectiveness. • Advanced Technical Application and Problem Solving: Applies advanced technical principles to address and resolve complex engineering challenges. Conducts in-depth research and provides technical expertise to support engineering initiatives and project objectives. • Mentorship and Team Management: Mentors and guides less experienced engineers, promoting professional growth and development within the team. Manages project teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of technical outputs, and fosters a collaborative and productive work environment. • Material Testing and Data Collection: Reviews designs, tests materials, and conducts data collection and calculations related to traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structural design, ensuring data accuracy and reliability. • Cost Estimation and Project Planning: Estimates project costs, material needs, and personnel requirements, and assists in project scheduling.

Prepares detailed project proposals and establishes completion timelines to ensure efficient and effective project execution. • Technical Reporting and Documentation: Prepares comprehensive technical reports, design packages, and project specifications. Ensures that all documentation is code-compliant, meets industry standards, and is maintained accurately and up-to-date. • Quality Control and Compliance Management: Ensures all designs comply with environmental regulations, industry standards, and safety codes.
