Essential Functions Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Manages daily operations and supply management for the department.
Manages daily workflows and schedules of all personnel in MRI. Serves as the MRI department expert and provides staff training, education, and onboarding for new and existing employees. Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day operations and departmental activities.
Identifies revenue cycle best practices and supports implementation within the department. Contributes to the development of policies and procedures, protocols, and operational efficiency. Collaborates with other hospital service areas in a professional and cooperative manner to provide optimal patient care.
Supports customer service initiatives and responds to patient concerns promptly and timely. Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance while leading by example. Monitors PACS unspecified lists and Epic lists to ensure accuracy, and any needed exam corrections are done daily for timely reads.
Monitors, documents, and performs equipment QA/QC as outlined by the ACR, DOH, and Joint Commission. Participates in Joint Commission surveys, rounding, and preparation. Performs timekeeping for all MRI staff timely and accurately and manages PTO requests.
Performs and/or oversees the performance of MRI procedures, including instructing and manipulating patients, selecting techniques, calibrating equipment, and performing scans. Dispatches calls for equipment service and coordinates preventative maintenance. Ensures adherence to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and safety standards.
Performs ACR accreditations consisting of documentation and image submission for accreditation purposes. Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Technical Manager or designee. Qualifications High School Required.
Must graduate from an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program. 4-6 years of experience (minimum of 5 yearsβ experience as an MRI Tech or Lead Tech). Deep understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. Able to troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve difficult imaging challenges.
Training and evaluating new technologists. ARRT β American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Upon Hire Required). ARRT-MR β American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (Upon Hire Required).
Registered Radiologic Technologist β New York State Department of Healthβs Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection (Upon Hire Required).
