Job Purpose The Senior Manager of Publications works closely with the Director of Pubs to support the strategic development and operational execution of global publication plans while ensuring strict compliance with GPP, ICMJE, and industry standards of assigned DA. The role is responsible for day-to-day execution of publications, management of publication systems, vendor budgets, and cross-functional partnerships to deliver high-quality, audit-ready scientific communications. The incumbent proactively identifies risks and makes recommendations to Directors on operational execution and compliance-related elements.

Responsibilities And Accountabilities Partners with cross-functional team and, under supervision of Director, supports the creation of publication plan. Is extremely savvy with publication management system. Ensures accurate and timely documentation of publications and assists stakeholders in navigating the system.

Ensures operational execution of publications in compliance with SOPs, guidelines, and industry standards and assists with improving operational efficiency in DA. Escalates compliance-related elements to Director as appropriate. Creates training and training materials for all relevant pub systems and processes.

Ensures all publications of assigned DA follow good publication practices and are always audit‑ready, escalating to Director as appropriate. Generates metrics for respective DA and suggests operational improvements. Represents Global pubs at strategic meetings for respective DA and escalates to Director as appropriate.

Manages vendor budgets, invoice tracking, and overall vendor relationships for assigned DA. Stays abreast of updates to publication-related guidelines including ICMJE, GPP, CONSORT, AMA Manual of Style, and Council of Biology Editors. Reporting Relationship Reports To: Director – Global Medical Publications Job Specifications Education Degree in nursing, pharmacy, or advanced degree in science/medicine (MD, PhD, PharmD, MS) preferred with 7+ years of pharmaceutical/biotherapeutics industry or relevant experience.

Competencies Knowledge of publication standards (ICMJE, GPP, CONSORT, AMA) Project management and/or vendor management experience required Prior publication planning and publications management experience a strong plus Strong scientific and clinical knowledge Proficiency with MS Office suite (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Collaborative and solution‑oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment Knowledge of publication management systems is a plus Travel Requirements Domestic and international travel required.
