Job Description

Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer (Dallas, TX) – Remote

PAE is looking for an experienced Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide advanced technical leadership and guide project teams through all phases of design. The candidate will work remotely, ensuring mechanical engineering project delivery on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with quality and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams and manage discipline to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Prepare engineering deliverables, including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Attend client meetings and coordinate effort between external and internal project teams
  • Apply engineering judgment and procedures to carry projects from concepts through construction
  • Design mechanical systems: HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy modeling
  • Assemble and manage effective project teams
  • Develop project workplans, tasks, and assignments for the team
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration and ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards
  • Oversee engineering calculations and equipment selection
  • Perform site visits and issue reports
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to staff
  • Update master specifications and improve company processes
  • Develop client relationships
  • Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred)
  • Professional engineering credential (e.g., PE) preferred
  • Minimum 2–4 years of mechanical engineering experience, or 5–10 years of related experience depending on role
  • Leadership experience and ability to inspire and motivate staff
  • Technical expertise in mechanical engineering concepts and effective communication of design options
  • Strong delegation and organizational skills
  • Detail‑oriented with advanced organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
