Senior Geospatial Analyst

• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $124,322 to $138,494 + super.

Our Renewable Energy Biodiversity Support team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Geospatial Analyst to provide expert geospatial analysis, technical advice and spatial data solutions that support biodiversity regulation, policy development and program delivery across NSW.

In this role you will lead the development and delivery of spatial data products, GIS analysis and technical reporting to support evidence‑based decision‑making. You will manage complex spatial datasets, implement quality assurance processes, contribute to technical projects and provide specialist GIS advice to internal teams and external stakeholders. Working within a collaborative and high‑performing team, you will help improve spatial data management practices and support biodiversity assessment and conservation outcomes across the state.

About You

You are an experienced geospatial professional with a strong track record delivering high‑quality spatial analysis and technical solutions in a complex operational environment. You bring strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering quality outcomes.

You are a collaborative and customer‑focused communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and build productive relationships with stakeholders. You enjoy working as part of a team, sharing knowledge and contributing to innovative solutions that support informed environmental decision‑making.

Key knowledge and experience

• Extensive knowledge and experience with ESRI software including ArcPro, ArcGIS Online and ESRI Web Apps.
• Experience in database management and spatial visualisation.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with field apps, data collection workflows and user design experience for a range of audiences.
• Knowledge, skills and experience using FME Workbench or other modelling and analytics related applications, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of natural resource data and ecology would also be beneficial.

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications are preferred, such as TAFE Certificate IV in Spatial Information Services or equivalent, and recognised industry experience.
