Job Description

About the Role

Techylla is looking for a Senior Frontend Developer who doesn't just write components - who builds experiences people actually enjoy using. This is a role for someone who's already fluent in the modern React ecosystem and wants to bring that craft to fast-moving, client-facing products from day one.

You'll own the front-end architecture for enterprise-grade applications β€” working with the latest React patterns, performance techniques, and tooling, alongside a team that values clean code, thoughtful UX, and shipping fast without cutting corners. If you're the kind of developer who reaches for the newest stable tooling because it makes the product better (not just because it's new), this role is built for you.

We need someone who can start immediately and hit the ground running β€” no lengthy ramp-up, no hand-holding on fundamentals.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Work with the newest stack: React 19, Next.js App Router, TypeScript, and modern state/data tooling β€” not a legacy codebase you'll spend a year modernising
  • Own the front end end-to-end: From architecture decisions to performance and accessibility β€” your calls shape the product
  • Direct client visibility: Work closely with US-based stakeholders and see your work ship to real users, fast
  • Immediate impact: Join a lean, high-trust team where a strong contributor is felt from week one, not lost in process

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Overall experience: 5–8 years of hands-on front-end development experience, with strong, demonstrable expertise in React
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Immediate availability: Available to join within 0–15 days β€” this is a mandatory requirement for this role

1. Core React & Modern Front-End Engineering

  • React (latest): Strong hands-on experience with React 18/19, functional components, Hooks, Concurrent Rendering, and Suspense
  • Next.js: Practical experience with the App Router, Server Components, SSR/SSG/ISR, and route-level optimization
  • TypeScript: Strong typing discipline across components, hooks, and API contracts
  • State & data management: Redux or Redux Toolkit for client state, and TanStack Query (React Query) or SWR for server-state/data-fetching
  • Styling: Tailwind CSS, CSS-in-JS (styled-components/Emotion), or modern CSS Modules with responsive, design-system-driven UI

2. Performance, Quality & Tooling

  • Build tooling: Vite or Turbopack, module federation/micro-frontend exposure a strong plus
  • Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress for end-to-end coverage
  • Performance engineering: Code-splitting, lazy loading, bundle analysis, Core Web Vitals optimization
  • Component systems: Experience building or consuming design systems with Storybook
  • Accessibility: Working knowledge of WCAG standards and semantic, accessible component design

3. Integration & Collaboration

  • API integration: REST and GraphQL (Apollo Client or urql) consumption experience
  • Version control & CI/CD: Git-based workflows, PR review discipline, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar)
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Comfortable working directly with designers, backend engineers, and US-based product stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to micro-frontend architectures (Module Federation, single-spa)
  • Experience with React Native for cross-platform mobile development
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate delivery
  • Exposure to Web Components or design tokens for multi-framework design systems
  • Prior experience in a client-facing or consulting environment

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance React applications used by real clients in production
  • Translate UX/UI designs into pixel-accurate, accessible, and responsive components
  • Own front-end architecture decisions β€” state management, folder structure, rendering strategy, and performance budget
  • Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews
  • Optimize applications for speed, accessibility, and cross-browser/cross-device compatibility
  • Collaborate directly with backend engineers to define and consume APIs (REST/GraphQL)
  • Contribute to and evolve a shared component/design system
  • Stay current with the React ecosystem and proactively recommend tooling or pattern upgrades
  • Communicate progress, blockers, and technical trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Behavioral Attributes

  • Self-starter who can move fast with requirements
  • Strong ownership mentality β€” treats the product like it's their own
  • Detail-oriented with a genuine eye for UI polish and user experience
  • Comfortable working directly with clients and handling ambiguity
  • Curious and current β€” actively follows the React/front-end ecosystem rather than working off outdated patterns
