SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
Moncton, NB
Our client is seeking a diligent and analytical Senior Financial Accountant to play a key role in their finance department. Reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will take ownership of the full-cycle accounting process, drive month-end accuracy, and provide meaningful financial insights that support management decision-making. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who thrives on process improvement and ensures the integrity of financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Lead the month-end closing process, including complex journal entries, comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, and detailed flux analysis.
- Operational Excellence: Prepare high-level financial statements and management reports, ensuring all output is accurate, timely, and compliant with accounting standards.
- Process Optimization: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and automate manual processes.
- Treasury & Compliance: Manage treasury functions, including wire payments and banking administration; ensure strict adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
- Strategic Support: Act as the primary lead for year-end audit preparation and documentation.
- Special Projects: Partner with the Controller on ad-hoc financial projects, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in a full-cycle accounting role.
- Education & Designation: University degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced command of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling) and hands‑on experience with ERP systems (Oracle experience is strongly preferred).
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing environment is a significant asset.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings to non-financial stakeholders.
- Professionalism: Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight reporting deadlines, and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
