Senior Financial Accountant
Amicus Search & Recruitment
Job Description
Amicus Finance is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join a leading group business based on-site in Citywest (5 days per week, €70k–€80k + 10% bonus). Playing a key role in statutory financial statement preparation, tax compliance, IFRS 16 lease accounting, and timely Group reporting, this role offers an ideal balance of technical compliance and commercial impact. Beyond core reporting, you will act as a key operational finance partner for assigned business units—driving month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and working capital management.
Working alongside operational, commercial, and finance teams, you will safeguard financial integrity while supporting strategic decision-making in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial & Statutory Reporting: Lead month-end close activities to prepare accurate management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory financial statements for Group entities in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Audit, Tax & Compliance: Direct the annual external audit process, oversee statutory returns (VAT, PAYE/PRSI), assist external advisors with corporation tax computations, and manage the Group's IFRS 16 lease accounting process (lease registers, right-of-use assets, liabilities, and disclosures).
- Operational & Commercial Partnering: Support business units with annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, intercompany reconciliations, and working capital management (debtors, WIP, creditors, cash flow), while driving continuous process improvements and ensuring strict adherence to internal controls and Health & Safety procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant—either newly qualified or up to 3 years PQE—ideally coming from a Big 4 or top-tier audit background looking for a strong first or second move in industry. You bring solid technical accounting knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft Suite, and ideally previous exposure to IFRS 16 and multi-entity environments. Highly analytical, energetic, and detail-oriented, you possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, a proactive approach to driving process improvements, and a genuine ambition to grow within a fast-paced international finance function.
