Role Overview
Senior Workday Analyst
We are looking for an experienced Senior Workday Analyst to support and enhance a global HR technology environment.
The role will focus on Workday configuration, technical support, security, business processes and reporting, while partnering closely with HR, Compensation, Talent Acquisition and wider business stakeholders.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is comfortable working across both day-to-day Workday support and ongoing system improvement, including configuration changes, testing, troubleshooting and deployment of new functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support and configuration across Workday modules including:
- HCM
- Compensation
- Talent Management
- Recruiting
- Absence
- Security
- Self Service
- Reporting & Analytics
- Work with HR, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into Workday solutions.
- Lead the design, configuration, testing and deployment of system enhancements and new functionality.
- Implement configuration changes using appropriate change control and governance processes.
- Assess proposed changes for their impact on business processes, system configuration and integrations.
- Configure and maintain Workday business processes, tenant settings and security roles.
- Support system and User Acceptance Testing.
- Troubleshoot workflow and configuration issues and conduct root cause analysis.
- Maintain and configure plan types, eligibility rules and related business processes.
- Carry out mass data uploads and support complex Workday events.
- Support integrations and ensure accurate data flow between Workday and connected systems.
- Design and maintain custom Workday reports.
- Develop expertise in new Workday functionality and support its introduction into the business.
- Identify user training and change management requirements.
- Develop supporting materials such as user guides, toolkits and job aids.
- Drive continuous improvement across Workday processes and the overall user experience.
Requirements
- 3+ years' experience within HRIS, HR Technology, IT or a related environment.
- Strong hands-on Workday configuration experience.
- Good understanding of Workday system architecture, administration and configuration.
- Experience configuring Workday workflows and business processes.
- Strong understanding of Workday security roles and permissions.
- Experience across multiple Workday modules, ideally including HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Talent and Absence.
- Experience completing system testing and UAT.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Understanding of HRIS integrations and data flows between systems.
- Ability to develop and maintain custom Workday reports.
- Experience working with senior HR and business stakeholders.
- Previous experience working within a large or global organisation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- Experience using an IT service management or ticketing platform such as ServiceNow.
- Experience supporting large-scale or multi-country Workday environments.
- Exposure to organisational change, training and user adoption activities.
- Experience supporting Workday enhancements or continuous improvement programmes.
Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will be a hands-on Workday functional/technical analyst rather than a purely HR operational profile.
They should be comfortable configuring Workday directly, troubleshooting complex issues, working with integrations and reporting, and partnering with HR stakeholders to improve processes and system functionality.
