About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on ETL Architect / Developer to design, build and run high-performance data integration pipelines on on-premise open-source ETL platforms. You'll own ETL architecture from the first requirement through production support. You'll work closely with data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable and well-governed data.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end ETL/ELT solutions using Talend (Open Studio / Data Integration) and Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle/Spoon)
• Build, optimize and maintain complex jobs, transformations and workflows for batch and near-real-time data loads
• Define ETL standards, reusable frameworks, naming conventions, error handling, logging and audit mechanisms
• Integrate data from varied sources (RDBMS, flat files, APIs, XML/JSON, legacy systems) into data warehouses and data marts
• Design dimensional data models (star/snowflake schemas, SCD Types 1/2/3)
• Tune ETL performance through parallelism, partitioning, bulk loading and query optimization
• Set up job scheduling, orchestration and monitoring (Carte, Talend JobServer, cron, Airflow or similar)
• Lead migration or modernization of legacy ETL processes
• Mentor junior developers, review code, and create technical documentation
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure data quality, integrity and SLA adherence

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of ETL development experience, with at least 2+ years in an architect or lead role
• Strong hands-on expertise in Talend and Pentaho Data Integration. Equivalent depth in other on-premise open-source ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Apache Hop, Apache Airflow, CloverDX, or Jaspersoft ETL will also be considered
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills across databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling and ETL best practices
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting
• Working knowledge of Java or Python for custom components and scripting
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices for ETL deployments
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

Good to Have

• Experience with big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka)
• Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake) for hybrid architectures
• Knowledge of data quality, MDM or data governance tools
• Experience with BI and reporting tools (Pentaho BI, Power BI, Tableau)
• Talend or Pentaho certifications
